The Director of Mobile Solutions is responsible for the management of a division within a large organisation, whose market comprises a wide variety of mobile communication & portable computing devices, each with their own characteristics and needs. Each product segment must balance performance and power with cost.
This person will be responsible for managing, on a global basis, the other members of the team as well as driving the complete strategy for the mobile solutions segment. They will work with their regional reports to drive success within the division to further the company’s IP penetration into every part of the market value chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a cross-functional team consisting of engineering, business units, product marketing, & account managers in order to execute the segment strategies to win designs. They will be responsible for driving segment input to the other functional groups with in the organisation to develop new & evolved products (hardware and software), business models, technologies, merger and acquisitions, & marketing communication. Working closely with other departments, this person will identify and coordinate all aspect associated with the progress of the company’s position in the specific market segment, as well as promote their success externally to industry and financial analysts.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate previous experience in the mobile telecommunications market at a senior *executive level & will be able to demonstrate success in the following:
* Creating design win opportunities at key OEMs to win market share within the Mobile Solutions arena.
* The establishment of key strategy partnership and collaborations with key players within entire value chain.
* Creating a strong presence in market publications and events addressing the Mobile Solutions arena.
* Recognition gained by investment analysts in the arena.
* Establishing a clear understanding of competitors in the segment and their strengths.
* Establishing an influential position within in the Mobile Market.
